THE STORY
|
While on an afternoon picnic, Lisa and Oliver learn that
Hooterville has been the center of several flying saucer sightings, though
one turned out to be a flying shoebox sighting (Which actually turned
out to be a low flying bus).
Later that night, the Douglases are awaken by Eb, who claims to be
saying goodbye to a pair of aliens who flew off just before Oliver and
Lisa arrived.
The town is gripped by saucer mania, Eb becomes an instant celebrity, and the
Douglas' farm becomes a tourist attraction.
Although Oliver believes none of this nonsense, the government certainly does, and sends
an Airforce Lieutenant to Hooterville to interview Eb.
During the interview, anytime Eb tries to say anything specific about his alien encounter
he can't seem to say anything but "bleep, bleep, bleep." This infuriates both the
Lieutenant and Oliver, however when Oliver attempts to recount the story that Eb had previously
told him, Oliver also is able to say nothing but "bleep, bleep, bleep."
The Lieutenant leaves in disgust, Lisa tries to convince Oliver and Eb of their "bleeping" and
the show ends when Oliver tosses the only evidence of Eb's encounter (a blank Polaroid
photo) into their stove. The group leaves the kitchen, and the stove instantly turns
bright green. (Agent Scully eat your heart out!)
