THE STORY
|
Lisa is devastated to find that Hooterville has no beauty
salon. She addresses the members of The Ladies Every Other
Wednesday Afternoon Discussion Club and is nominated the
chairperson in charge of getting one. Oliver's mother
blackmails her hairstylist, Claude, of the Ritz Plaza,
to open a shop in Hooterville by mentioning a single
word..."Scranton."
None of the businesses will let Lisa use their locations for
a salon, so Lisa sweet talks Floyd, the conductor, into
letting the ladies use the Cannonball. The women of
Hooterville become "beautiful," but then refuse to do any of
their chores. An angry (male) mob goes to tar and feather
Mr. Douglas for helping to turn their wives into "city women,"
but Lisa makes a speech reminding the men that they should
appreciate their wives more.
