|
Mr. Haney's well dries up, so he has a new well dug. As soon
as Mr. Haney's new well is complete, the Douglas's water goes
dry, so Oliver has a new well dug. As soon as Oliver's well
is complete, the Ziffel's well runs dry, so Mr. Ziffel digs
a new well. As soon as the Ziffel's well is complete Sam
Drucker's water runs dry, so Sam has a new well dug. As soon
as Sam's new well in complete, the Douglas's water goes dry
again.
Enough is enough, why keep paying Willie the Water Witcher when
Hooterville can build their own reservoir (Mr. Douglas's
idea). After careful research it is determined that the only
suitable place for the reservoir is the Douglas's farm. Oliver
refuses and comes up with a new idea, build a huge electrical
water pump and pump the needed water from the Pixley
Reservoir. Once the switch is thrown, Hooterville is thrown
into darkness.
The show ends with Sam Drucker informing Oliver that a new
revision of the water law has been enacted that states from now
on, their will be no reservoirs, everyone must just keep going
to Willie's Water Witching Service, or be jailed or fined.
